QUEENS, NY — New York Police Department officers responded to a large unauthorized street takeover event in Queens where a group of participants jumped on a police cruiser and broke its windshield, authorities said.

The incident drew a large crowd of motorists and spectators to city streets, prompting NYPD units to intervene to disperse the assembly and clear the roadways, according to police statements.

Video released by the department shows multiple individuals on top of an NYPD cruiser striking the vehicle and damaging its front windshield during the takeover.

Officers made several arrests related to disorderly conduct and criminal mischief, and no serious injuries to NYPD personnel were reported, officials said.
