CLAIBORNE COUNTY, Miss. — A Claiborne County sheriff’s deputy was fatally shot Sept. 7 while responding to disperse a crowd gathered at a convenience store in Hermanville, according to WLBT.

Deputy Terrian Bailey was fatally wounded when a suspect opened fire during the response. A woman was also shot in the incident and is expected to recover, according to the report.

The suspect fled the scene and has not been apprehended. The FBI is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the suspect’s capture; no description of the suspect has been released.

Bailey had served with the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office for six years. He is survived by his wife and children.
