MARKED TREE, ARK. — Officer Trevor Howard, 25, died in a traffic crash when a vehicle ran a stop sign and struck the patrol truck in which he was riding as a passenger, causing the police vehicle to overturn.
Howard was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.
The Marked Tree Police Department officer operating the patrol truck was transported to a hospital for treatment. The driver of the vehicle that ran the stop sign was also transported to a hospital.
Howard had served with the Marked Tree Police Department for two months prior to the crash. His death has been recorded as a line-of-duty death by the Officer Down Memorial Page.
