A pizza delivery driver helped stop a Pennsylvania police pursuit Sunday by doing a simple thing: He stuck out his leg.

Tyler Morrell, a Cocco’s Pizza delivery driver, helped Brookhaven police apprehend a suspect while he was dropping off an order in Middletown Township, WPVI-TV reports. And his heroic efforts were caught on video.

The incident happened shortly after 3:30 p.m. as Brookhaven police chased a stolen Kia from Upper Darby. The vehicle pursuit ended when the stolen car crashed, and the suspect fled on foot.

“I started walking towards the road, but I couldn’t do anything with my hands because I’m holding the pizza, so I just stuck my leg out,” said Morrell, who was making a delivery as the frantic chase unfolded.

As the suspect ran past him, Morrell stuck out his leg, tripping the juvenile and sending him to the ground. Officers then quickly grabbed the suspect and arrested him.

“He gave us the help we needed, by tripping him it gave us the time to catch up with the gentleman,” said Brookhaven Police Chief Michael Vice.

Police also arrested another suspect, who sat in the stolen vehicle after the crash. Both suspects face multiple charges, including fleeing and eluding, resisting arrest and several traffic offenses.

“I am so sick of seeing crime go on, especially half a mile down the road,” said Morell. “So if they needed a hand or a foot, I was there.”
