Body camera footage from a recent shootout shows bystanders coming to the aid of a Nevada police officer who was wounded in the exchange of gunfire.

The incident happened Jan. 8 when Reno police responded to a report of a parking dispute at an apartment complex involving shots fired, the Reno Gazette Journal reports. When officers reached the scene, they spot two men “running away with several firearms,” according to audio in the body camera footage.

A gunfight then erupts between the suspects and police, with multiple shots fired. One of the officers was struck in the exchange, and he groans and falls to the ground before propping himself back up and continuing to fire.

In another video, bystanders are seen coming to help the officers. Some of the civilians were armed, and one man applies a tourniquet to the wounded officer’s leg.

The wounded officer was struck in the abdomen and once in each leg. A GoFundMe campaign has been created for him, and it has raised over $32,000 as of Friday.

One suspect was shot and wounded during the incident. The other suspect also was shot, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The shooting is under investigation.
