ALLIANCE, Ohio — Alliance police fatally shot a man Sept. 15 after he produced a firearm during a confrontation following a report that he had brandished a weapon at a local car dealership, according to the Canton Repository and WKYC-TV.
Police were called to the Wally Armour car dealership on West State Street for a report of a man brandishing a firearm. The suspect left the dealership before officers arrived, but police obtained a description of him and his vehicle and located it on the 1200 block of Johnson Avenue.
According to Jordan Miller News, the suspect drove into the parking lot of a nearby apartment complex, where three officers confronted him. The man then produced a firearm, and two of the officers opened fire.
The suspect, whose identity has not been released, died at the scene. No officers were injured.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is investigating the shooting.
