CAMDEN COUNTY, GA. — A Camden County Police Department sergeant was killed early Sunday after a vehicle struck his patrol car while he was conducting a traffic stop on Interstate 95, authorities said.

Officer Caleb Abney was performing the stop near Exit 3 at about 1:50 a.m. when a passing vehicle collided with his marked patrol unit, according to the Georgia State Patrol. Fullerton was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle was taken to a local hospital with injuries the patrol described as unknown in severity; no charges had been announced as of Monday morning.
State troopers and Camden County deputies responded to the incident and continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash, including any contributing factors.
Officials asked anyone with information or dash-cam footage related to the crash to contact investigators as the inquiry proceeds.
