It happened overnight on the 9900 block of Northeast 180th Street in Bothell, WA.

The Bothell Fire Department tweeted that “two officers are down after pursuit in Bothell. At least one patient has been transported to area hospital, conditions are unknown.”

Bothell Police also confirmed the shooting and also posted on social media that a suspect was on the run after an officer-involved shooting.

Not long after, a suspect was arrested by police after being found “hiding on a rooftop”.

Deedee Sun from KIRO7 shared SMART reports (Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team) that the suspect had been apprehended.

Police later confirmed that the suspect had been apprehended and taken into custody “without incident” – this after he was found hiding on a nearby rooftop.

Here’s the backstory.  Officials say the shooting happened when Bothell officers responded to a traffic stop.

Bothell PD Captain Mike Johnson confirmed that one officer was killed:

At the time of the press conference, the suspect was still on the run.

“The suspect is still at large. He is armed and dangerous. We’re asking anyone with any information to please call 911 … the suspect is described as a Black male wearing a gray tank top, baggy sweatpants … [and] he is armed with a handgun.”

Everett Police spokesperson Aaron Snell said in a press conference “the shooting and chase began when Bothell officers responded to a traffic stop on Bothell Way Northeast around 9:40 p.m.” After the driver was pulled over, he “led police on a short car chase before he got out and started running.”

At this point, police are still trying to figure out whether the suspect had been involved in a hit-and-run, the Seattle Times said, and right now the reason for the traffic stop remains unclear.

According to the Seattle Times,  many streets in downtown Bothell were blocked by law enforcement officials including Bothell Police and Fire Department, the King County Sheriff’s Office, Kirkland Police Department and Northshore Fire Department.
