LEXINGTON, KY — A Lexington Police officer was dragged by a vehicle during a traffic stop and suffered minor injuries before the suspect was arrested and charged with multiple felonies, police said.
The incident occurred when officers attempted to stop a vehicle in Lexington, and the driver fled, dragging an officer who was at the driver’s side window, according to a police report.
The officer was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and later released, authorities said.
Officers pursued the vehicle and took the suspect into custody without further incident, then charged him with assault on a police officer, wanton endangerment and other felony counts.
Lexington police continue to investigate the case as additional charges may be filed, the department said.
