Oregon Officer Shot while Helping to Serve Warrant

A Portland police officer was shot in the leg Friday morning while assisting federal agents with a narcotics search warrant in the 1600 block of North Willis Boulevard, according to a source familiar with the investigation but not authorized to speak.

Portland police said a suspect fired shots while the Police Bureau’s Special Emergency Reaction Team was assisting federal agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration serving the warrant in North Portland.

The officer was taken to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center. Their condition is unknown.

Another person was reportedly shot at the scene, but their connection to the incident is unknown at this time.

Officials said to avoid the area and expect streets to be blocked.
