STOCKBRIDGE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A police officer and a sheriff’s deputy dragged a trapped driver from a crashed sedan just minutes before flames overtook the vehicle Friday night along M-52, according to officials and newly released body-camera video. Officer

The Stockbridge Police Department said Officer Allen reached the wreck near Topping Road around 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, finding the car on fire with a 42-year-old Lansing man pinned inside. Working with Ingham County Sheriff’s Deputy Tabeling, the officers pulled the driver through the passenger-side window and moved him to safety. Within roughly three minutes, the vehicle became fully engulfed, authorities said. Officer+1
Officials said first units arrived within about a minute of the initial call. Stockbridge Area Emergency Services Authority treated and transported the victim with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators said impairment is not suspected, and no other occupants were in the car. The crash is being investigated by Stockbridge police with sheriff’s office assistance. Officer
