The incident unfolded when officers responded to reports of gunshots in the Brockton area, where residents described a suspect discharging a firearm in multiple directions near homes.
Before police arrival, a Marine Corps veteran legally armed with his own firearm encountered the suspect and held him at gunpoint, preventing further erratic fire, according to local law enforcement.
