CARROLLTON, Ga. — Carrollton Police Officer Dustin Krish has died from injuries he sustained nearly one year ago when a vehicle struck him while he was directing traffic, the Carrollton Police Department announced June 10, 2026.

According to witness accounts, Krish had just assumed his position beneath a traffic signal when he was struck and thrown several feet. He was airlifted to a hospital following the collision, where he remained in intensive care. Krish had been with the department since Sept. 24, 2022.

The Carrollton Police Department issued a statement following Krish’s death, remembering him as a dedicated member of the agency. “Dustin was the best of us. He was unwavering in his duty, courageous, and faithful until the end,” the department stated.
