OKLAHOMA — An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper was killed in a head-on collision with another vehicle while responding to a call, authorities said.

The crash occurred when the trooper’s vehicle, traveling westbound, was struck by a vehicle that crossed the centerline, according to Oklahoma law enforcement officials.

Responding emergency personnel pronounced the trooper deceased at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle also died as a result of the collision, officials said.

The identities of both the trooper and the other driver have not been released pending family notification and official procedures.

State troopers and crash investigators are examining the circumstances of the collision to determine contributing factors and to complete their report.
