JUPITER ISLAND, FL — The Martin County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday released body camera footage of the March 27 arrest of golfer Tiger Woods after his SUV rolled onto its side in a residential area of Jupiter Island, according to video and law enforcement accounts.

In the released footage, Woods appears astonished as deputies handcuff him beside the road after conducting field sobriety tests, during which a sheriff’s deputy told him, “I do believe your normal faculties are impaired, and you’re under an unknown substance, so at this time you’re under arrest for DUI.”

Woods told deputies he was looking at his phone and changing the radio station when his Land Rover clipped the back of a truck and flipped, and he confirmed he had taken some medications earlier in the day.

The video also shows deputies removing two white pills from Woods’ pocket, which he identified as Norco, a pain medication containing hydrocodone; authorities later confirmed the substance.

Woods, 50, pleaded not guilty this week to suspicion of DUI; he posted a statement saying he will step away indefinitely to focus on his health.
