A man accused of attacking an off-duty NYPD sergeant who challenged his motorcycle riding was nabbed on assault charges, cops said.

Sherred Johnson, 31, of the Bronx, was freed without bail after arraignment Saturday in Manhattan Criminal Court, records show. Prosecutors had requested bail of $20,000 cash or bond.

Johnson has one prior arrest in 2019 for harassment and criminal mischief, a police source said.

The 52-year-old sergeant was crossing E. 90th St. near First Ave. at about 7:00 p.m. Tuesday when Johnson clipped him with motorcycle’s mirror, witnesses said at the time.

An argument ensued in which the sergeant yelled at Johnson to slow down, said police.

Johnson slugged the sergeant in the face, said cops. When the officer fell to the pavement, he broke his ankle, a court complaint says.

As the officer tried to get up, the motorcyclist started kicking him, said a witness — who added that she didn’t realize the injured man was a police officer.

The criminal complaint says the officer reported that Johnson punched him repeatedly.

Johnson hopped back on his motorcycle, which the criminal complaint said was a green Kawasaki, and sped off down E. 90th St., cops said.

The sergeant was treated for his injuries at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Johnson faces counts of misdemeanor and felony assault.
