A Monticello police officer was critically injured in a motorcycle accident Thursday and was scheduled to undergo brain surgery Monday, according to the Monticello Police Department.
Jeramy Thompson, 50, was injured when an SUV pulled in front of him while he was on a motorcycle, Monticello police said. He was flown to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital and listed in critical but stable condition.
The collision happened at the intersection of Hal Rogers Parkway and KY 30 Thursday afternoon, according to London police. The impact of the collision threw Thompson from the motorcycle.
The driver of the SUV was transported to a hospital too, according to London police.
Thompson had just left an in-service training class in London minutes before the collision, according to Monticello police.
“His wife Rhonda and his MPD family would appreciate your prayers as well,” Monticello police said in a Facebook post.
