SHIAWASSEE COUNTY, MI – A Shiawassee County deputy went uninjured after a semi-truck hit the deputy’s vehicle while it was stopped on westbound I-69.

The semi-trailer lost control, jackknifed and hit the deputy’s cruiser after failing to move over, according to a news release from the Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office.

It took place just after midnight on Feb. 16, according to police.

The deputy, who had his cruiser’s blue emergency lights on during the stop, was standing outside and was able to lunge over the cable barrier to avoid being hit.

The deputy had shut down the left lane of westbound I-69 because a vehicle was disabled with a wheel missing.
