NASHUA, NH — A grand jury has returned an indictment charging a Nashua man with first-degree murder and multiple related counts in connection with a Sept. 20, 2025 shooting that left one person dead and two others wounded at a country club, prosecutors said.
The indictment charges Hunter Nadeau, 24, of Nashua, with alternate counts of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, attempted murder and assault stemming from the incident at Sky Meadow Country Club.
Authorities said Nadeau opened fire inside the club during a wedding reception, killing Robert DeCesare Jr. and injuring Steven Burtman, a restaurant manager, and patron Brianna Surette.
Responding patrons helped subdue the suspect as law enforcement arrived, including one person who struck him with a stool, officials said.
Prosecutors have not publicly discussed a motive for the shooting, and court records show Nadeau was previously charged in an unrelated misdemeanor assault case in April.
The case is scheduled for further proceedings in Nashua District Court as the charges move forward.
