A woman has been charged after she allegedly struck a police officer on a New Jersey highway and fled the scene, Robbinsville Police Lt. Thomas Egan said.

Patrolman Connor Boyle, 25, was assisting the driver of a disabled vehicle on Route 130 near Voelbel Road at about 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, police said. As Boyle was standing on the side of the road speaking to the driver, a car struck him as well as his patrol car and the disabled vehicle before continuing to travel south on the roadway, authorities said.

Robbinsville EMS responded to the scene and rushed the injured officer to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he remains in stable condition, police said.

Officers later arrested the suspect, Rachel Glatt, 52, of East Windsor, at her residence, officials said. She has been charged with second-degree aggravated assault on a police officer and fourth-degree assault by auto in addition to receiving multiple motor vehicle summonses, authorities said.

The Robbinsville Police Department is asking anyone with information about the case to call their Criminal Investigations Unit at 609-259-3900.
