In a frightening roadside scene, a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper was nearly run down by an out-of-control tractor-trailer that barreled onto an interstate media.

The incident happened recently on a stretch of Interstate 80 near Rawlins, the Wyoming Highway Patrol stated in an online post. A trooper had responded to a previous accident scene that was caused by icy and snowy conditions.

Dashboard camera video showed the trooper returning to the driver’s side of his vehicle, which opened onto the median. That’s when the driver of a tractor-trailer lost control of the vehicle and ran off the interstate and onto the median, almost running over the trooper.

“Luckily, no law enforcement or first responders lost their lives to this out-of-control vehicle,” the agency stated. “Please remember that emergency personnel wants to be able to make it home safely at the end of their shift.

“Please slow down, and move over for emergency vehicles.”
