WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Police Unity Tour has completed its 300-mile journey to honor those who have died in the line of duty. The annual “ride for those that died,” which pays tribute to fallen officers, completed the somber trip to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday.

“The Police Unity Tour was established 25 years ago to honor, respect, and remember those officers that have fallen in the line of duty,” Police Unity Tour Founder Patrick Montuore said. “It is surreal to have the opportunity to greet participants each year as they end their long and faithful journey at the Memorial. We’re thankful for the many who showed great dedication, determination, and endurance in this year’s ride for those that died.”

The Police Unity Tour is comprised of close to 1000 riders who ride into the Memorial to remember and honor the fallen. The ride began in New Jersey, continued in Wilmington, Del., and Annapolis, Md., and the last leg of the trip took place Wednesday afternoon as riders travel the last 60 miles to the Memorial.

Immediately following the ride-in, leaders of the Police Unity Tour honored the Memorial, riders, and all the fallen officers they represent with a special ceremony to commemorate the 25-year tradition and the 30th Anniversary of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.
